Saturday I had my presentation for class - which went well, even though I was coughing, nose running, eyes watering... still wearing a suit. LOL - sometimes it's all about "looking good". However I didn't have my supporting papers to turn in. I've been rather incomplete in communicating. That includes friends in person, online and even family.
It sucks feeling alone and knowing a lot of people. It really shows when I think that Saturday night I took the bus to Bleu, got out and the guys I thought I had a ride from had left me (2nd time done that). Standing sick on Woodward @ 3am I hailed a taxi and paid $30 to get home.
Sunday night I gave up calling around and resigned myself to how to take the bus to and from Bleu. After all I already had a ticket. Bus departure at 8:57 got me there at 9:45. Then I had to get back on the street for the midnight bus (last bus) back home. I think all I heard was Kevin Saunderson last night and never saw Carl Cox. The photos in my brief time there were cool. I'll have to upload them to www.flickr.com/photos/fuzzytek before I go to Miami tomorrow morning.
I guess I'm bummed because I never get invites for activities from people so I guess I'm just not considered. Not having a car is a bit tough, but not financially possible now without income.
Tomorrow morning 3/22 I leave for Miami to the Winter Music Festival. I've been looking forward to this over a month. I have an advertisement running in a listing of events there. I have placed several casting calls to search for models and emailed a few directly. So far results is one person interested. I think that will change once I get out at events and talk to people face to face.
The room situation fell through. Today I had to cough up $825 for a hotel for 4 nights, March 22-25. My parents are showing up on the 26th. I may need a place to toss my bags overnight until I see them. I don't know whether to invite someone to split the room cost or set it up for model shoots. I'll be wearing my OneModelPlace hat, even though I hardly ever wear a hat. I'm there for work and to have a good time. So I should advertise on my body. I got a fresh batch of business cards too. Maybe I'll ask someone to use body paint on me - 'Model Shoots Available!' Or ask a few friends to wear 'Fuzzytek photoed me, how about you?', then give them cards to pass out.
March 26 is Ultra and I've got a ticket for it. But I also have a VIP invitation to the activities day & night at Nikki Beach. There's a little dilema. Maybe I can sell the Ultra ticket once I pick it up at the window.
March 27 I will be staying with my parents at a time share. It has been over a year since I saw them last, this is going to be great! I'll leave Ft Lauderdale on the 31st, very early in the morning. I figure there's lots of photo time then as well.
I need to setup a day for photos with a studio in April. I'm thinking to book a hair & make-up artist. I'm mulling over what price to charge per hour.
