Tuesday morning Dick stopped by and picked me up and we got to the airport with plenty of time. I was standing at my gate 1 hour before the flight was scheduled to leave.
The first leg of my trip was to Charlotte, NC. I talked with the older woman next to me and we shared some interesting stories. I realize how much living in houses going through 'home improvement' through my marriage created some tension. It's a matter of where I've gone spiritually the past few years that has opened my view. I realize how the woman in a relationship is the cyclical force, nurturing. While the man is a servant, going forth and doing what he feels will keep her happy to repay her for nuturing him. Sometimes we(men) don't aways ask if we are doing what she would like. I'm glad Melanie and I have the relationship we do now.
So I got to Charlotte and at the airport I see this woman walking by Sbarros where I stopped for lunch. She had a guitar in a soft case on her back. It was great to see her walk in and order something. So as I cleaned up my tray I walked over and introduced myself.
I thought perhaps the musician was going to the Winter Music Conference, I found out different. Surprise, she's brazilian, from Recife. She's 21, married to an American that's 40 and lives in Indianapolis. This trip she was on her way to see her family again. Just like me it had been a year since she saw her parents. It is interesting that her flight is to Miami, the same one I was taking!
Her father and brother play guitar also and she lit up talking about playing with them. Not only does she play, she's been writing music as well. She even married a guitar player.
She's quite a talented woman and has a natural beauty that I see in so many brazilian women.
We headed over to the gate and compared boarding passes. LOL - sitting in the same row. So when we got on the plane talked with our neighbors and worked out sitting next to each other to talk over many things. I told her of my trip to Sao Paulo and we spoke about love relationships. Women amaze me, especially those who are able to be open in expressing themselves.
We landed in Miami and I walked her to the gate for her next leg of the trip. She had to wait 4 hours. Once she headed there I ran downstairs to the baggage area and out to stand in the cab line.
I wanted to share a ride and found the guy I was sitting next to on the plane happened to be there! So Dan G from Baltimore and I shared a cab out to our hotels. Talk about funny circumstances. Dan thought I knew Claudia, he laughed to find that I had just met her. Dan told me he's playing at Amika on Wednesday early evening.
Then the trip through congested traffic up to the Best Western took WAY too long. The cab fare usually $7 was $12.50. I'm glad Dan & I split the first part at $14, but the bottom line was barely less than $30, the fare for me to have gone solo.
