Was the Fashion Massacre massacred?

This weekend was the Fashion Massacre, orchestrated by Tyna Logan. Advertising around the event had a long list of designers appearing some existing and others new creating a lot of hype around the urban fashion event. The massacre of the Fashion Massacre happened in the week leading up to the event. I can't say I am in the know on this but several of the designers scheduled to appear fled the event and created their own niche offering.

In my opinion this is whack. For one, the advertising and publicity for people would have them believe your label was going to be at this event. To cut loose and fly is short sighted in creating a name around your brand for those interested in potentially booking you into future shows. People speak of unity and loyalty - those aren't words for a closed circle of people. Bottom line - I'm not sure about being interested in these designers that failed to show.

Overall I feel it was a SUCCESS for those participating. I would like to congratulate those that made the Fashion Massacre a success through participation and attendance. Being true to your word, following suit on the advertising of the event, and working through divisive situations puts you in a group of valued colleagues.
