Occupy Detroit GA Meeting

The 4th General Assembly for Occupy Detroit was held at Central United Methodist Church. There were a number of items brought forward and approved by the assembly.

One of the most significant was consensus that a 90% majority of votes during a General Assembly would be sufficient to approve by the movement as a whole. There was quite a bit of discussion about the needs and operation of the tent city erected at Grand Circus Park, which has been standing since Friday October 14.

There was also discussion of moving an occupation into one or more empty buildings around Detroit - possibly focusing on those going through foreclosure in a controversial manner.

I'm looking forward to seeing a more comprehensive blog post on the official website - http://Occupy-Detroit.us
