Tonight I will be stopping by Ed's place before going to Bleu tomorrow night. We'll discuss the possibility of creating an online magazine that will feature announcements, reviews, stories and photos. I was mulling over ideas for a title and came up with "Metroenaissance". Definately an interesting looking name which in styling the letters can appear as Metro Renaissance. I've had many many people talking about magazines that will cover this. I hear of them starting and failing.
Etymology of "renaissance" is from the Old French word "renaistre" - "to be born again". It is not about "renewal". It is about creating from nothing once again. A new spirit rising up through the layers of the past.

Living For Sundance - A group of artists in various mediums committed to excellence brought forth in film-making. The most common examples of excellence are when teams unite for greater results than any individual could achieve. It is in the human spirit to feed off of and contribute to the spirit of his sisters and brothers. Nuturing and pursuit are both required for success. Male and female qualities intertwined.
I want to solidify and share a vision of the embodiment of this concept. Consider - Each person involved is like a oarsman on a galley ship, with a mate beside him/her. We stroke in unison and achieve great things. It will require a boatswain to maintain a steady rythym, and a sternman to steer the course.
